Pinoys on Parliament: National Youth Leadership Conference (POP)is a weekend long conference in Ottawa, Ontario, that will bring together Filipino-Canadians (Pinoys) across Canada.

In its inaugural year, this conference aims to bring young Filipino-Canadians together not only to start discussions and empower youth with skills, but also to show them, how they can each thrive in their own fields.

The event will allow for young Filipino-Canadians to hear from panels of Filipino leaders in various fields speak about their career paths, as well as how they think more Filipinos can become leaders in Canada.

Thanks to the Government of Canada and TakingITGlobal POP is free of cost to all who want to attend!

“Lift While You Climb”

Creation of a National Network

Pinoys on Parliament believes in the mantra “Lift While You Climb”

All participants of the conference will be invited to join a national network. This network will include regular meetings between participants, professional development initiatives, and distribution of opportunities (educational, employment, national, and community based engagement) to all. POP aims to provide participants knowledge and skills that they can use as building blocks for effecting change in their own communities once they return home.

Mentorship

At the end of the conference all those who participated will be invited to participate in a six month mentorship program where they will be matched with leaders in various sectors who have interests and fields of work similar to theirs. The mentorship will solicit leaders and mentors from across the country, regardless of geographical distance and serve to build linkages across the country of young Filipino-Canadian leaders and those who have experience in a field or interest that they may share.
